Once he was born, I was obsessed with every new thing he did. Most new parents are. The process of photographing him week by week gives me time to pause, to view him outside of my role as a parent and to see him from a photographer’s perspective.

Each photograph throughout the series is accompanied by a journal entry, documenting his first 52 weeks. It is as much a journal of my growth as it is his.

About Leigh

Leigh Webber is a photographer and first-time mom based in Charleston, SC.

She is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design where she studied photography. Following graduation, she moved to San Francisco and spent the next 6 years freelancing as a photo assistant and retoucher.

An avid traveler, Leigh has photographed in Europe, the Middle East, SE Asia, India and spent a year living in Australia.

In 2004, she opened Leigh Webber Photography, a wedding, children and fine art studio. She is available for more photography based book projects.
